"Keep us, 0 God,from petti-ness; let us be large in thought, in word, in deed. ...
Let us be done with fault-finding and leave off self-seeking.
May we put away all pretense and meet each other face to face, without self-pity and without prejudice.
Let us take time for all things; make us to grow calm, serene, gentle.
Teach us to put into action our better impulses, straight forward and unafraid.
Grant that we may realize it is the little things that create differences, that in the big things of life we are as one.
And may we strive to touch and to know the great common woman's heart of us all, and 0 Lord God, let us forget not to be kind.

On Monday Sept. 27, 1943 I attended a meeting of the Monday Study Club, of South Haven,Kansas, and talked to them on organizing a Township Library and pointed out to them that the City of South Haven has:
a city valuation of $200,000 and only one mill can be levied for libraries which would bring them about $200.00.whearas: if they organized a township library the valuation is $l,498,855 and the Kansas law allows that a levy of 1 mill may be made under certain conditions, as written petition signed and
...... Went to South Haven by bus and returned
with Mrs. Hellstern by car. A lovely day and warm. Mrs. Newman is president of the Library Board and a good, worker. Something may come of it.
